In type 1 diabetics, the immune system attacks and destroys the cells that produce insulin in the pancreas. <b>After these cells are destroyed, the body is unable to produce insulin at all &#8211; leading to diabetes.<\/b><\/p><p>Those who develop type 2 diabetes have what\u2019s called insulin resistance. This means that while their bodies produce insulin, it doesn\u2019t use it properly. When you develop type 2 diabetes &#8211; usually due to chronic inflammation, from diet or lifestyle factors &#8211; <b>your pancreas will try to compensate by producing more insulin.<\/b><\/p><p>Since your body is unable to use this insulin effectively, glucose accumulates in your bloodstream, leading to the common symptoms of diabetes.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7f1b789 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"7f1b789\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2>Treatment Options<\/h2>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-16df87c elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"16df87c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>In type 1 diabetes, patients will manage their symptoms for the rest of their lives.
